Excursion to Avila and Segovia from Madrid

Discover in just one day two of the main jewels of old Castile, declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO!

Our Excursion to Avila and Segovia from Madrid will start aboard an climatized bus that will take us to our first destination, located just over 100 kilometers from the capital. Upon arrival we will be fascinated by the imposing Wall of Avila, considered the best preserved medieval wall  in the world. An accredited guide will take us through the old town and reveal its impressive history. We will see Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces and a fortified cathedral from the Middle Ages. Later we will visit the aforementioned walls of Avila, from where we can imagine the countless stories that have been seen over the centuries and that earned the old city the recognition of World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

After some time exploring on our own, we will return to the bus and ride to Segovia. There, we will have an hour and a half of free time for lunch. Next, we will go with our guide to the exterior of the Segovia Cathedral, nicknamed the Lady of the Cathedrals. Later we will walk through the old Jewish quarter to the Alcázar. In this place, a guided tour will make us marvel at this spectacular fortification. Did you know that its architecture inspired Walt Disney for one of his movies?

We will be back in the center of Madrid around 17:00h.
