Two Gems of Castile in a Single Day!
On this excursion to Ávila and Segovia from Madrid, you’ll explore the best-preserved medieval walls in the world, Ávila’s fortified cathedral, Segovia’s imposing Roman aqueduct, and its fairytale Alcázar—accompanied by a certified guide and with free time to enjoy at your own pace.
We’ll depart in an air-conditioned coach toward Ávila, located just over 100 kilometers from Madrid. Upon arrival, you’ll be struck by its imposing medieval wall—considered the best-preserved in the world. Led by a certified guide, we’ll explore the old town, filled with Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces, and the unique Ávila Cathedral, which blends religious architecture with defensive fortress features. After the visit, we’ll enter the city walls and enjoy breathtaking views and centuries of history.
After some free time to stroll or grab a bite in Ávila, we’ll head to Segovia, where you’ll have an hour and a half for lunch before continuing the tour. There, we’ll start with the iconic Segovia Aqueduct—one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world—and continue into the heart of the old town.
Accompanied by our guide, we’ll admire the exterior of the majestic Segovia Cathedral—known as the “Lady of Cathedrals”—and walk through the old Jewish quarter until we reach the spectacular Alcázar of Segovia. With its unique architecture, blending fortress and palace, this iconic site has inspired legends and even Disney films.
The excursion ends with the return to Madrid around 5:00 PM, after a day full of history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.
