If the origins of the city are unraveled in the neighborhood known as “Madrid de los Austrias”, its consecration as a great European capital during the Enlightenment is palpable in this area, where the Bourbon dynasty imposed a new classicist style that left behind the architectural sobriety of the Habsburgs.
