Delve into the hidden side of the capital.
The Tour of Mysteries and Legends of Madrid will take you, for two hours, through streets and squares where history is mixed with the unusual. From crimes and miracles to urban legends, you will learn about stories that still beat in the heart of the city.
We started in the Plaza de Pontejos, where we organized the groups before heading to the neighborhood of La Latina. This historic enclave, one of the oldest in Madrid, holds corners full of symbolism. La Puerta Cerrada, the Mercado de la Cebada or the Museo de San Isidro will be some of our stops. There you will learn about the mythological origins of the city, mysterious crimes and miracles attributed to its patron saint.
We will continue to the Almudena Cathedral, with more than a century of history. Here you will discover its relationship with the Christian conquest and the legend of the Virgin that gives its name to the temple.
The night advances and we cross the Plaza de Oriente, illuminated and majestic, to reach the Convent of the Incarnation. Built in the 17th century to commemorate the expulsion of the Moors, it is the scene of one of the most intriguing paranormal phenomena in Spain.
We end the tour in the vicinity of the convent, where the silence of the night and the dim light of the street lamps create the perfect atmosphere for the last stories.
The Madrid Mysteries and Legends Tour not only reveals the enigmas of the city, but also its soul: a place where the sacred and the profane, the rational and the magical, go hand in hand. Dare to look at Madrid from another perspective… and let its legends accompany you long after the tour is over.
